Traderoc publishes explanations of financial literacy, markets, instruments, startup financing vocabulary, and study tools. The purpose is study. The pages are not a service for carrying out transactions.

Nothing on this website is financial advice, general or personal, and nothing is a call to action. It does not consider your objectives, financial situation, or needs. If you need advice, speak to a person who is registered to give it in your province.
Investment risk
All investments carry risks, including the risk of losing money. A clear definition does not reduce that risk. You can lose capital. You can also misunderstand a product even after reading a glossary.
No guarantees
We do not promise a result, a return, or an improvement in skill that produces income. We do not claim that reading the notes will make anyone a professional investor or trader.
Decisions
You are responsible for your own decisions. Traderoc is not liable for a purchase, a sale, or a decision to do nothing, whether or not you read a note first.
Different instruments
Shares, debt, pooled funds, and derivatives carry different kinds of risk, including market moves, issuer failure, leverage, and complexity. Startup claims add further uncertainty about the business itself. The notes name those differences. They do not rank the instruments or suggest one of them.
Past description
A historical example, where one is used to define a term, is not a prediction. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. A sorted list produced by software is not a forecast.
